before the arrival of the first of the month (somebody cue bone thugs), i thought i should recap my experience as a "model" at the red dress collection. carly aplin - mother & tv host/reporter extraordinaire is the mastermind behind red dress, which brings together "local celebs" and local designers for a one-of-a-kind fashion show that benefits go red for women.
this was the ultimate feel-good experience as we were pampered the entire day with free uber rides and make-up & hair provided by haus salon & blow dry! blow dry bar - all in the name of a great cause. the most heart-warming part of the night was watching 7-year-old heart defect survivor, millie muller experience all these things with us, especially her runway walk - which was by far, better than mine. let's just say that i won't be venturing into professional modeling any time soon.
though millie stole the show, a close runner-up to that was the camaraderie shown amongst models, designers and the entire staff alike. oh, and i didn't mind the flowing champagne and impromptu dance parties either (i'm looking at you christopher, max & jahna).
and i have to give lots of love (and major props) to my uber talented designer, mary pranica, who knitted the most beautiful dress for me (let me say this again, KNITTED THE ENTIRE THING! #mindblown). and last but not least, to ms. carly aplin for throwing an equally beautiful event. so honored & thankful to have been a part of such an amazing cause and to be walking alongside great company. carly - you have a heart of gold (and really amazing hair) and i look forward to next year's event!
enjoy the compilation of photos i took backstage and a few here and there stolen from star tribune, city pages, minneapolis2night, realia by jen & my friends' iPhones (apologies for the botched quality of the slideshow, didn't want to make you guys scroll through a never ending post).
